All-Day Viking Owner Class–#1, #2, and #3
Saturday, January 04, 2014
9:30 a.m.-3:00 p.m.
Cost: The class is free if your purchased your machine from a Viking Sewing Gallery. There is a cost if you did not.
If you don’t have a schedule that will allow you to take your owner’s classes on multiple days, we have an all-day class designed just for you where you can get your two or three classes in one day. You may get a new machine for Christmas, or you may have had your machine for a while and haven’t been able to squeeze your classes into your schedule. We have designed this compressed series especially for those who have time off during the Christmas holiday. There will be a 45 minute lunch break where you can go to any of the multiple fast food restaurants nearby, or you can bring your own lunch. We have a limited number of seats available, so sign up early!
The class parts that are available for you depends upon which machine you own. The Husqvarna Viking Sapphires, Eden Rose, H-Class 100, Tribute, Emerald 183 and Emerald 202 machines get only parts 1 and 2 since they are not embroidery machines. Part 3 is only for embroidery machines. If your machine is not an embroidery machine, you may leave when we break for lunch. When you reserve your seat for class, please let us know which machine you own.
In Part 1, we will teach you the basics of how to operate your machine (bobbin winding, threading, machine care and maintenance, the functions of the buttons/icons, machine hemming, and buttonholes). Part 2 will give an overview of the basics of decorative stitching, applique by machine, free motion quilting, programming (if your machine includes this feature), and how to use twin and wing needles for heirloom sewing. Part 3 goes through the basics of how to embroider with your embroidery unit (how to hoop, load a design, edit a design, add lettering, and stitch out). We will also explain the various types of stabilizers that are used with machine embroidery.
