6D Software-Basic

This class gives you basic instructions on how to achieve beautiful embroidery using your 6D software. Please bring your laptop, mouse, dongle.

Note: Please have your 6D software fully loaded to your laptop before class.

Do you avoid projects with zippers because “they never look right,”  “they are too hard,”  you just “can’t do it?”  Then, this is the class for you!  We will not do a project, but will learn 4 different zipper applications.  You will be able to keep your sample zipper applications for later reference.

Stabilizer Event

Learn about stabilizer in this fun and informative event.  Taught in a lecture demo format, we discuss various types of stabilizer, when they are used, and we will demonstrate 8-10 example uses of stabilizer.  This is a very well received, and highly sought class, so sign up EARLY!

Thread Painting

Also called “free motion embroidery”, thread painting is creating designs on fabric using thread, your own ideas, and manual control of your fabric.  Learn the basic two stitches for thread painting in this class, and create a simple design as part of this class.   We will be practicing using the online materials of Nancy Prince.

Learn how to use multiple Viking feet to accomplish a sampler quilt at the end of a rotating twelve months.  The finished quilt will be approximately 49″L x 40″W. We used six different fabrics.

Each block gives specific fabric, notions, feet, accessories and cutting requirements as well as instructions to make the block.   Note:  This will be a sewing class, not embroidery.

A supply list for the class will be provided when you pay your registration fee; please come in to the store to pick it up as soon as possible.  Your space is only temporary until you pay your registration fee.

Free Motion Quilting: The Basics

Do you ever want to do your own decorative quilting on your completed quilt tops? You can, with a little instruction and a lot of practice! In this class, you will learn the basics in managing your free motion quilting – loops, handwriting, motifs.

A supply list will be provided once you pay your registration fee, which needs to be gathered and prepared in advance, so we can take full advantage of the class time for quilting!  Please come in to the store to pick it up as soon as possible.  Your space is only temporary until you pay your registration fee.

Husqvarna Viking sergers can be used for advanced functions and decorative stitching.  In this class, we focus on threading for the cover stitch and chain stitch.  Learn about starting and ending your cover stitch, and about creating thread chains using the chain stitch.

Serger III: Coverstitch and Chain Stitch

Husqvarna Viking sergers can be used for advanced functions and decorative stitching.  In this class, we focus on threading for the cover stitch and chain stitch.  Learn about starting and ending your cover stitch, and about creating thread chains using the chain stitch.

Embroidered Applique

Learn to applique the easy way!  If you didn’t like machine applique before this class, you will LOVE it afterward!  And, if you already liked it, this will enable you to do it quickly and with gorgeous results.  There are many applique designs for use with the embroidery machines – use up those scraps to make a gorgeous quilt or table runner!  We will show you how to create your first few blocks using one of the many Lunchbox Quilt designs we offer at the Viking Sewing Gallery.  You receive 50% off the design purchased for class.

Layered Quilting with Applique

Using the new Viking embroidery design Emb 264 (Layered Quilting with Applique), make a few blocks for a quilt or table runner during class.  While your designs are stitching out, we will discuss “quilt as you go” techniques to use in joining the blocks together.

Make a beautiful, vintage-look table runner to create a light, airy look for your table or dresser.

Stabilizer Holder (or holder for any other treasure!)

Keep all those rolls of stabilizers organized and handy with this over the door stabilizer holder.  The clear pockets let you put the labels and any instructions in plain view where they won’t get lost!  Use of non-stick glide foot, bias binding, and marking techniques are explored in this class.

Embroidery Club

Embroidery Club is for all Viking Embroidery Machine owners.

We have Embroidery Club every 4th Thursday of a month.

You must have take class I & III and must know how to operate your embroidery machine.

Supply list will only be sent out only to people who signed up.
