Viking Club – Chenille Pillow

This time Barbara will teach you how to use a chenille foot to create the beautiful pillow.

Supply List:
HV Sewing Machine
Tear and Wash Grid Stabilizer
Chenille Foot
Thread to match or embellishing thread
2 Fat Quarters
1 1/2 yards of solid fabric
Cutting Instructions: (instructions are for a 12 x 12 pillow. If you want a larger size, you may do so. Just cut strips accordingly.)
3/4″ bias strips from solid fabric. Strips are stacked in threes, so cut enough strips to accommodate the size of the grid for the
pillow. You will have to sew the bias strips together for length. It’s easier to judge how many strips you need. I cut my strips 12 1/4″for length and width. The number of strips used were 36 for width and 36 length. This gives you an overall of 72 strips for a 12 x 12 pillow.
Your strips need to ravel when washed or brushed, so make sure you are using fabric that will give you good ravel.
If instructions are not clear enough, please contact Barbara.
