Join us to learn the fun things you can do with our 6D Software. You’ll learn how easy it is to make new fonts with Quik Font, how to resize your designs, change colors and much more!

Software club will have hands on lessons using your computer and dongle.  We will feature a topic from the 6d Embroidery system. We will have a printed lesson along with a webex recording made by one of our SVP Education Experts on the topic of software designing, embroidery, feet and hoop techniques. Every month we will have a new topic.  It will be fun and you’ll leave with the instructions to do the project at home or sign up and do the project in class with us.  You will need to register for the class.

6D/5D Embroidery Software BASICS March 12 at 2PM

For all new owners of Viking Embroidery machines

An introduction to the 6D Embroidery Software Suite. We’ll cover the basics, from the complementary 6D products available for every Husqvarna Viking Designer series machine, to optional 6D Embroidery, 6D Extra, and 6D Premiere. Learn the basics of using your software effectively. We will cover 5D software for those with that discontinued product.

6D Premiere Owners: It is recommended that you attend this class BEFORE attending your first 6D Premier class.

Preparation: Bring your laptop, dongle, USB stick and power supply/cord. You should have installed, registered and updated your software, and activated your dongle BEFORE you attend class. Please call us at 512-340-0640 if you are having ANY problems with your installation.

This class is appropriate for ALL NEW Embroidery machine owners, as we cover the 6D Explorer plug in and machine communication – transferring designs to the embroidery machine. You’ll also learn about viewing embroideries on your computer and using QuikFont to create embroidery fonts to use on your Husqvarna Viking Designer series embroidery machine.

Decorative Stitching–Viking Owner’s Class #2

You have all of those fancy stitches on your new machine, but do you know how to use them?  We will teach you to appliqué and to program a stitch sequence that can be saved in the memory function of your machine.  You’ll even learn to do basic applique’, free motion quilting and some heirloom techniques with the twin needles and wing needles!

 

Bring your sewing machine, foot control, power cord, all of the accessories that came with your machine, owner’s manual, scissors, two spools of 40 wt. rayon embroidery thread, extra 80/12 or 90/14 universal needles, a bobbin wound with bobbin thread, a twin needle, a wing needle, paper and pen for notes and your eye glasses (if you need them).   Embroidery machine owners do not need to bring the embroidery unit or hoops for this class.

 

There is limited seating so reserve your spot early.

 

In order for us to start class on time, please arrive 5-10 minutes before class is to begin to allow you to have time to set up.

If we have time, we’ll play a little with different designs and the Fabric Magic stabilizer.

Supply list for the project is as follows:  Bring your machine and embroidery unit, 200×200 Quilter’s Hoop, Endless Embroidery Hoop II, Fabric Magic stabilizer, 1 yard decorator fabric for apron, 3/4 yard fabric for pocket , waistband and sash, Embroidery thread, bobbin thread and Embroider needles, size 90. Let me know if your machine takes a smaller hoop; I will resize or find a smaller design for you to use. Don’t forget your USB stick if you are using one of the Gallery machines.
