Now it’s time to explore all the wonderful designs you can stitch out on your new embroidery machine.  We’ll show you how to select a design, change colors, pick a stabilizer and stitch it out.  Learn how to hoop your fabric, or just hoop the stabilizer and sew out the design on your garment or towel.

Don’t struggle to figure out how all this embroidery works.  We’re here to help and show you the easiest way to do it on a Husqvarna Viking machine.

Please bring:  Your Husqvarna Viking Embroidery machine,  the embroidery arm, the scissors and embroidery thread that came with the machine, the smallest hoop that came with your machine (usually a 120mm x 120mm), and both books that came with your machine (the operating instructions and the design picture book).  Be sure to remember your usb stick too.

All the work will be on your embroidery machine, a computer is not required for this class.  We will supply fabric and stabilizer for your first sample.

The title says it all. If you purchased a machine with all the nice decorative stitches, then you continue on with this class and we’ll show you how and where to use them.  We will do a “repair” and show you how you can fix tears in fabric and clothing.

Also learn how to program sets of stitches to use together both now and latter.  For instance, sign your name to your work.

Have you looked at all our wonderful recipe towels and thought, I wish I could make one of my own recipes?

Then this class is for you!

Our first class session, we will work with your embroidery program and typing in your recipe to create your towel, and also search or create a design to show off how delicious your recipe is.

The second class we will be embroidering out and sewing the towel from fabric.

Sew like Isabelle, make an embellished fabric cuff bracelet and add sparkle to your denim skirt.  We will make the bracelet for the young lady and then add tulle and sparkle to her own denim skirt. This is a beginner sewing class to get your young lady started on her sewing adventure.

Calling all Sewists who would like to come to the aid of Motts Children’s Hospital’s Loss Coordinator.

We’re asking people to join us on the First Tuesday afternoon of each month to make Preemie Quilts for Motts.  We have room for 10 sewists. We will be using JoAnn’s classroom (roomier). So dig into your stash for fabrics that will bring at least a wispy smile to the parents of these children during one of their darkest hours.

If you work or are a very independent sewist, you can drop your quilt off to us; and we will get yours to Motts.
Are you new to quilting and want to make a small project. This is your project! We have several small quilt designs to select from. Also, this month, Yessant, will review the fundamentals of a basic  traditional quilt binding.

Welcome to serger basics! This class is designed for all skill level machine owners, and is highly recommended for first time serger owners or new serger model owners! You will learn:

– proper threading of your machine (4 thread overcast)

-converting to a 3 thread narrow stitch

-converting to a 3 thread rolled hem

We also cover stitch length adjustments, differential feed use, needle replacement, tension adjustments, and basic machine cleaning.
