Nothing is prettier than Heirloom sewing. The finest type of stitching. This is a chance to try a few stitches on your machine. Twin needles pintucks, Wing needle Entredeux, a fine roll and whip, Hemstitching and more. This will be a sampler for a reference type of workbook for you to use in the future. You will need your Viking Sewing machine, a 1/2yd of Batiste, or at the least a all cotton thin weave like muslin. This is a class designed to be a workbook to learn from, not a project. So you will not feel pressure to finish something.
This project will teach you to take full advantage of the gathering capability of your serger. You will also have the opportunity to use an alternative to a conventional facing by finishing off the hem with a rolled edge.
Okay, so maybe you don’t have a little girl to sew for? Donate, give it away, or simply hang onto the finished dress until you do have a little girl to sew for. Remember these classes aren’t just about the projects but also about learning the techniques and fellowship.
