Having attended Machine Introduction is helpful, but not necessary. Learn to use your machine’s decorative stitches. Have some fun with appliques techniques and even try some free motion sewing. The last part of the class will be teaching you how to program on your new machine. Those who have machines that do not have this ability may leave early, or stay and watch. We are excited to welcome a guest presenter on, Tuesday, July 15, 2014.  Class scheduled for 10:00 am-2:00 pm or 2:00 pm- 6:00 pm, each class is limited to six participants.   The cost of the class is $15.00 plus supplies.

This awesome pillow looks like a flower when you are finished.  Pick your favorite colors, get piping to match or I will show you how to make your own piping.  If you have not seen the Circular Attachment, it is fun, makes this pillow a breeze.  If you don’t have this attachment there will be a few at the class for you to try.

Creative Class: Cat’s Meow embroidery applique wall hanging

Have you been wanting to learn how to do machine embroidery applique? Then this is the class for you! It’s fun and easy!

During this 4 hour class, you should be able to complete 3 of the the cats and a couple of the side pieces.

For the class you will need the following:

The Cat’s Meow design collection (this needs to be purchased ahead of time to know how much fabric you will need), duck bill/applique scissors, fabrics for cats and side pieces, stabilizer, embroidery machine with embroidery unit, assorted sizes of hoops and embroidery threads.

In this class we will teach you how to maneuver around in  6D. You will learn the basics of 6D Embroidery and the really fun things about 6D Extra, such as the Quilt block wizard and the Express design wizard!

Anxious to get started on embroidery but not sure of what to do? Come to our 2 hour owners class and we’ll teach you the correct way to hoop (or in some cases, not to hoop) your fabrics for professional results. You will learn about the different kinds of stabilizers and which ones work best with different fabrics and designs.

For this class you will need to bring:

Your machine and embroidery unit, USB stick that came with your machine, all accessories, embroidery thread, pre-wound bobbin or bobbin thread and empty bobbin, power cord and small curved scissors.

Are you at a loss as to how to use your new serger? Come to our serger owners class and learn the wonderful things you can do with it!

We will take the fear out of using your serger!!!

For this class you will need to bring:

Your serger and all accessories, power cord and foot control, 4 cones of serger thread (4 different light colors) and small scissors.

In this 2 hour class you will learn all the basic functions of your new sewing machine, from buttonholes to zig-zaging!

This is the continuation class where you finish making a simple skirt or pajamas using a  pattern.

Sewing Basics 3 – Part 1

This is a two part class where you will make a simple pajama or a simple skirt using a pattern and learning how to read a pattern.  You will have to buy the amount of fabric that is listed on the pattern.  When you get the pattern you can not go my the size you get at the store for clothing, you have to take your measurements and get the size that is for your measurements.  The   Simplicity pattern 3696 is for a simple pajama.  The easiest patterns are Simplicity.

Embroidery Club/July

This month will we be learning about applique in the hoop using.  It is so easy and fast to make.  Come join us.   You can do it in a snap.  You will need a basic fabric background about 1/3yd.  Also a can of 505 spray and some cute print fabrics.  Embroidery thread to match and some stabilizer.  For practicing, tear a way is fine, but for using in a project, No show Meas can be left in permantly and you don’t know it is there, great!  Don’t forget your bobbin thread and embroidery needles!
