Why it is important to iron your squares and why seams get pressed in different directions.
We will discuss Log Cabin Quilt part 3 class at the end of class so you will have everything ready for your 3rd class.

If have MANY embroidery designs, and are they scattered all over the place in a jumble on your computer? Learn how to organize them so that you can find them when you want to use them. This class is for you!

If you have one of these Husqvarna Viking Designers–the Diamond Royale, Diamond deLuxe, Diamond, Ruby deLuxe, Ruby, Topaz 50, 30, 25 and 20, or an SE, you have the capability of connecting your machine to a computer or a USB stick to transfer embroidery designs. Claudia will teach you how to do this in this class.
Prerequisite: You must be able to perform the basic operations of your machine to be able to take the class. If you cannot, please complete the Machine Basics–Viking Owner’s Class #1 and Embroidery Basics–Viking Owner’s Class #3 prior to registering.
NOTE: Students should install HUSQVARNA VIKING® 6D™ Organizer and Communication Software on their laptops before coming to class. Files are found at:
www.husqvarnaviking.com. Look for Embroidery Machines Support and download the software. You will be asked to enter a code; the code (9200) is the one located in your User’s Guide.

In this class you will be learning not only how to create a log cabin square but one of the fastest ways to create a throw quilt.
You will be learning how to get the perfect 1/4″ seam and why it is one of the most important things about quilting.
You will learn how to square up your blocks as they grow in size.
We will discuss pattern layout possibilities.
We will discuss Log Cabin Quilt part 2 and part 3 at the end of class so you will have everything ready for your other classes.
Student is responsible for: Bringing their cut fabric, duel/duty thread for piecing, long pins with round ball end, stitch rippers, and good reading glasses. Signing up and paying class fee before the day of class to hold your seat and picking up your supply list. There will be a class scheduled on how to cut your fabric with a rotary cutter before this class is held. Rotary cutting class is free to you for signing up to this log Cabin Class. The date of the rotary class is to be announced and will be relayed to you.

In this class you will learn: How and why different stitches are used to sew a garment together, How to line up the front and back of your pants and sew them, How to make a casing and run elastic, How to hem your pants, We will discuss Learning to Sew 2 at the end of class for those interested
Student is responsible for: Bringing their pattern instructions Pattern cut out and still attached to their cut out fabric Thread to match fabric Elastic for waist
How to make a Flange Pillow, how to make button holes, and sew on buttons with your machine, and how to top stitch.
For those that get done early and what to learn how to sew an invisible zipper , you will need to provide the invisible zipper and we will have fabric available for you to use.
Student is responsible for: purchasing and bringing the supplies on the list they received in class one, Fabric, thread, and buttons.
Showing up 10 minutes early to get set up.
How to make a pillow case, you will learn how to attach an accent piece of fabric so that the seam is concealed. You will also learn how to finish off your seams.
For the first night You will need:
Choose 2 coordinating fabrics, one for the cuff and the other for the body of your pillowcase.
Cuff: cut 1 piece 11 ½” by 45” ( all cuff are the same size )
Body of the Pillowcase:
Standard Pillow cut 1 piece 45” by 27” ( for a pillow 20” by 26” )
Queen Pillow cut 1 piece 45” by 32” (for a pillow 20” by 30”)
King Pillow cut 1 piece 45” by 38” (for a pillow 20” by 36”)
You will also need coordinating thread.
We will discuss what you need for night two and give you a list then of the supplies you need for the Flange Pillow and if you would like help picking out your fabric we will be available.
You will be given a pattern and get a refresher on laying out your pattern on fabric for next class.
In the second class we will be making a flange pillow.

Welcome to serger basics! This class is designed for all skill level machine owners, and is highly recommended for first time serger owners or new serger model owners! You will learn:

Welcome to the 3rd level of machine owners classes – Embroidery Basics! This class will walk you through a basic stitch out – from beginning to end. Level one (owners basics) completition required. Topics covered include:
Design File Trasfer
Proper Hooping Techniques
Types of Stabilizers
Design setup: how to position design on screen, how to choose proper hoop size, how to rotate and resize, how to manipluate stitch order and count, how to delete stop functions in lettering
And, if time allows, Applique by Machine Embroidery

The Foot of the Month Quilt is back! Block #5 – Flat Felled Foot!
Each month, we will complete one block using one or more specialty Viking feet. After all 12 blocks are complete, we piece and quilt it! This beautiful completed quilt was done by Judy Foster:

Take two T-shirts and make one beautifully decorated one. You will cutting one T-shirt into strips to make ruffles that will be added to the neck, sleeves, and chest of the other shirt. You will truly make a one-of-a-kind shirt that will be the envy of all of your friends. You can use two shirts of the same color or get two shirts of different colors. You will be the designer making your own creation! Have fun with it.
