Embroidery Club – Christmas Placemat July 28 at 2pm

For all owners of Viking or Singer Embroidery machines.

Each Month, Embroidery machine owners get together to work on a new project, featuring a special pattern or new technique. Join a group and join in the fun! The fee cover supplies and an embroidery pattern.  Supply list will be sent with email confirmation.

This Month:  It’s Christmas in July! We’ll work up an easy quilted and embroidered placemat that will give you an early start to your Christmas season gifts. We’ll provide a new applique Christmas Design.  Bring three Christmas themed fat quarters or quilter cotton. One for the top, one for the backing and one for binding.

Plan on a three hour club this time… we’ll make it worth your time!

  • 3 Fat Quarters of Christmas themed or colored cotton fabrics
  • Embroidery Machine, USB Stick, and 200 x 200 or 260 x 200 hoop

Creative Serging–Serger Foot Bag

Learn how to use 6 different presser feet for your serger when you make this unique bag.  Optional:  You can also (if you wish and if there is time) learn how to install a top zipper gusset so you can keep your bag closed.  The extra feet used are:

Computer 101: How to Set Up Your Embroidery Library Files

If have MANY embroidery designs, and  are they scattered all over the place in a jumble on your computer?  Learn how to organize them so that you can find them when you want to use them.  This class is for you!

4 Zippers, 4 Bags

Learn four different methods of applying a zipper in this class–an exposed zipper, a centered zipper, a lapped zipper, and a hidden zipper.  It really is easy once you learn these techniques along with some extra tips.   After you apply your zippers, Belva will even show you how to turn your samples into a make-up or gadget bag.

  • Sewing machine with its foot control, power cord, and accessory feet, especially your zipper foot!*
  • Invisible zipper foot–If you have a Husqvarna Viking machine, you will need foot #412687045* (metal) or #413286545* (plastic).  If you have a Singer, you will need foot #270 SP-163*.  If you have another brand of machine, you will need the invisible foot specific to your machine, or get the generic invisible zipper foot that JoAnn’s sells; they are hanging above the invisible zipper display.
  • Sewing scissors*
