In this class you will learn how to use your decorative stitches and how to program your machine. Please bring your machine, accessories, power cord and foot pedal and machine user’s guide.
- To make the tote you will need bring Cotton fabric – 1/2 yard OR 2 fat quarters
- Fusible interfacing -1 piece 12″ x 20″
- Decorative thread (make sure the thread color will show up nicely on your fabric. You want the thread to stand out, not blend in. The cotton blendables we sell look great!
Prior to class (at home)
- Cut from fabric – 1 piece 12″ x 21″ (outside of tote)
- Cut from fabric – 1 piece 12″ x 21″ (lining of tote)
- Cut from fabric – 2 piece 3″ x 21″ (handles of tote)
Iron the fusible interfacing to the wrong side (backside) of the outside fabric

Learn some more advanced garment making techniques with a fitted skirt. Your pattern selection should include: darts, a waistband or waist facing, and a zipper closure. Three different zipper installation methods (centered, lap, and invisible) will be taught. If you want to experiment with all three, please bring 2 9” all-purpose coil zippers and a 7”-9” invisible zipper and ¼ yard extra fabric.

-a fitted skirt pattern (darts, waistband or facing, zipper opening)
