In this class you will be using some of the feet that came with your machine and some new ones that are available for your machine, while exploring some of the decorative stitches and applications your machine is capable of
In this class you will learn the basics of how to use your new Husqvarna Viking sewing machine.

Are you ready to embroider? Come with your Husqvarna Viking Designer Diamond, embroidery arm, your hoops, your USB stick that came with the machine, your power cord and foot pedal. Bring a pair of scissors, a bobbin filled with embroidery weight bobbin thread, your sample design book and your user guide. We will provide the stabilizer, fabric and fun! We will talk about needles, stabilizers and thread to help you make your embroidering experience smooth!
This class is for those who have purchased additional 6D Embroidery software. We will cover 6D Embroidery – Basic, exploring how it works and what you can do with this module. Learn to resize, combine, use encore and much, much more! Shape and add your lettering to your designs with ease!
Please bring:

Do you have a new Husqvarna Viking Sewing Machine or need a review? Come to this class which covers the basics. Learn what buttons and/or dials to use to create the stitches you want. Sew Jean’s hems, make buttonholes, work with knits and use many more of the features on your machine. We will cover maintenance and other functions so you go home with a good working knowledge of your machine.

During this class we will practice free motion and binding and talk about how to put your quilt together.
For block 6, we will do foundation piecing. The pattern is marked on stabilizer, fabric is added, decorative stitching done using the Multi-Line Decorative foot, and then, the stabilizer is torn away, leaving a pretty block!
Learn to use the 6D Explorer Plug In module on your computer! View designs, sort designs and much more. We will walk through using this great new tool to enhance your machine embroidery experience.

Come and learn to thread your new serger! We will cover the parts and pieces, threading for several variations of stitches and learn about maintanence to keep your machine in tip-top shape.
Bring your serger, all the parts and pieces it came with, foot pedal/power cord, manual and 4 cones of serger thread. We strongly recommend 1 cone each of yellow, red, blue and green; these match the threading guides on your serger and will help you become more familiar with the threading paths.
Come and learn how create files and save files right on your Designer Ruby or Designer Diamond Embroidery Machines! Retrieve design files from your USB stick and save to your USB stick. Pull designs right off your computer or send them to your computer via the USB cable!

We will teach you how to do this in class.
Prerequisite: You must be able to perform the basic operations of your machine to be able to take the class. If you cannot, please complete the Machine Basics–Viking Owner’s Class #1 and Embroidery Basics–Viking Owner’s Class #3 prior to registering.
NOTE: Students should install HUSQVARNA VIKING® 6D™ Organizer and Communication Software on their laptops before coming to class. Files are found at:

You have all of those fancy stitches on your new machine, but do you know how to use them? We will teach you to appliqué and to program a stitch sequence that can be saved in the memory function of your machine. You’ll even learn to do basic applique’, free motion quilting and some heirloom techniques with the twin needles and wing needles!
If you purchased your machine from a Viking Sewing Gallery, the class if free. If you got your machine from another source, there is a charge for the class. It is to be paid prior to attending class.
Bring your sewing machine, foot control, power cord, all of the accessories that came with your machine, owner’s manual, scissors, two spools of 40 wt. rayon embroidery thread, extra 80/12 or 90/14 universal needles, a bobbin wound with bobbin thread, a twin needle, a wing needle, paper and pen for notes and your eye glasses (if you need them). Embroidery machine owners do not need to bring the embroidery unit or hoops for this class.
