The Embroidery Software Club is open to all who own or would like to learn about the Husqvarna Viking Software and/or Embroidery machines.  We focus on how the software and machines work together. We will work on a specific project or technique but, you are welcome to bring your own projects or questions to class to share or learn with other like minded embroidery enthusiasts. This club is free to join and meets every second Sunday from 1-4 pm.

This month we will explore using 3 types of bias binders.  Learn to bind edges with pre-folded bias binding or bias tape you have cut yourself.  Depending on the binder foot you use, you can bind edges with 1/4″ to 3/4″wide binding.  You can even bind quilts easily with the special 1/2″ bias binder.  Come in to learn to use these feet.  The class will include a small project using this foot. Bring your sewing machine, 1/4″ double fold bias tape, construction thread to match the tape and a 9″ x 9″ square of fabric.

In this class, students will become familiar with their machine and machine accessories.  Students will learn how to clean their machine, what needles and thread to use for different fabrics, how to thread machine and wind a bobbin, how to select and adjust stitches for different types of fabric and sewing techniques, how to sew a blind hem, seam overcast and buttonhole.

If you own the Husqvarna Viking 5D Pro System, you have the capability of turning your favorite photo into an embroidery design!  In part one, Patti will walk you through editing your jpg file photo so that you can stitch it out in part two of this class.  Start with a simple photograph (Patti used a .jpg of her maltese puppy (it may look simply “black and white”, but there were 30 different color changes!)  Check out her sample when you stop by the store to sign up!

Do you long to learn how to change out the fill stitches in some of your embroidery designs?  Don’t you just wish you could stamp your initials into a tree trunk, for example?  In this class, Sandy will teach you how to change around a palm tree design to suit your needs.  (And have lots of fun in the process).

Come join us in July for Sandy’s fun applique in the hoop embroidery class.  She is our resident expert and will help you learn the ins and outs of creating beautiful and practical applique in a jiffy!  You will need an embroidery machine with at least a 6 x 10″ hoop capability.

In this class, we will be going over how to program stitches and lettering and how to save them for future stitch-outs.

In this class, you will create an animal face using our new Circular Attachment. This attachment works with all Designer series machines as well as our Sapphire and Opal lines.

This will be a really fun creative class. Karen has made several different “animal” faces for samples.

Sew Simple Serging

This class is for people that have not purchased their serger at our store.

If you have a serger that was given to you or purchased elsewhere, you can attend this class to learn how to thread the serger and learn what your machine can do.

Items to bring:  Machine; power cord; pedal; accessories and manual if you have it.  Machines must be recently serviced and in working order.
