Serger Owner’s Class 1

Learn the basic operation of your serger including the parts of your machine, and threading. Please bring to class your serger, accessories, owner’s manual, 4 different color serger threads and scissors.

This class is free if machine was purchased in the Viking Sewing Gallery

Viking Computerized Machine Owner’s Class 1

Please bring to class your machine, accessories, manual, thread, scissors and a notebook and pen. Machines included in this class are all Sapphire, Opal, Eden Rose, Tribute, Topaz ,Ruby and Diamond models.

There is no charge for the class if purchased here.

Heirloom Handkerchief

Learn some heirloom techniques using some of the specialty stitches on your sewing machine.  Class will include the kit and wing needle.  Please bring your machine, normal sewing supplies and white cotton thread.

Class fee is $35.00

Serger Owner’s Class 2

Cost: There is no charge for this class when machines are purchased from the Viking Sewing Gallery.

This 2nd class is an introduction to the cover stitch capability of your new serger. Learn to thread  your machine  for coverstitch as well as learn about chain stitch and safety stitch.

Serger Owner’s Class One  is a prerequiste for Serger Owner’s 2.

Supplies you need to bring: 

Your machine, all accessories, machine owner’s manual, and serger thread.

This class includes the following machines:

  • Husqvarna Viking® Huskylock™ s21
  • Husqvarna Viking® Huskylock™ s25

General Class Policy • You are responsible for bringing your own machine, accessories, and sewing supplies to each class. We do not loan them out! • If the class has a cost, you must pay when you sign up.  Owner’s Classes are completely free when you purchase your machine at The Viking Sewing Gallery.  Our specialty classes do have a cost as well as some additional supplies that will vary with the class.  The fee must be paid when you enroll in the class.  

• Be courteous to your classmates and instructor:  Arrive early to class to set up. Class will begin promptly at the time shown on the calendar with no late arrivals. • If you are unable to make a class at the time it is scheduled, please call to let us know as we frequently have others waiting for your seat!  We can then reassign you to another class as available.

Value Line Owners Class

This class is an introduction to your new Singer or Viking Emerald sewing machine. Learn the basics of your machine, including blind hems and buttonholes. Please bring your machine, accessories, manual, thread and scissors.

No charge if purchased at the Viking Sewing Gallery.

Fabric Magic Pillowcase

Do you know about Fabric Magic? It’s a fun new stabilizer that shrinks fabric up to 30%! We’re going to use it as the border on a serged pillowcase we will make. We will provide the serger.

• If the class has a cost, please pay when you sign-up.  Of course, Owner’s Classes are completely free. Some of our specialty classes may be $10 unless you are already an owner of the item featured in the class or you choose to purchase the item during class for 10% off. These classes are marked with an asterisk (*).   This is a great way to try an accessory that you’ve been eyeing without the commitment!
