This class is just the beginning of the wonderful world of Husqvarna Viking® embroidery!  It gives basic instructions on how to achieve beautiful embroidery using your new Husqvarna Viking® embroidery machine.

Please bring your machine, embroidery unit, hoops, USB stick with designs, design book, bobbin filled with bobbin fill, and embroidery thread.

3-POCKET APRON

You can use this apron for any season or activity–cooking, sewing, and even gardening.  The three pockets are handy for holding what you need at your fingertips.  The pocket panel has three embroidered designs.  The edges are bias bound, and the tie is a drawstring.  We’ve selected Christmas designs, but you can use any embroideries that you choose.

Supply List

  • 3/4 yd. cotton print fabric
  • 1/2 yd. cotton solid color fabric or a tone-on-tone print (This is the
  • fabric on which your embroidery designs will be stitched out.
  • You want to be able to see your designs.)
  • 1 pkg. extra wide, double-fold bias tape in color to coordinate with fabric (It is ½” wide in the package after being folded.)
  • 5 mm hemmer foot
  • Left Edge stitching Foot
  • Adjustable binder Foot
  • 1/4” Edge Stitching Foot
  • Sewing thread to match your bias tape and fabric
  • Assorted Robison-Anton embroidery thread required by your chosen designs
  • 3 Christmas embroidery designs that will fit in the 100 x 100 OR 120 x 120 hoop (You may want to use designs that are on your machine or purchase different designs.)

OHIO STAR QUILTED PILLOW–cancelled; will be rescheduled

Make this pillow with the traditional Ohio Star Pattern as you learn how to do quilt piecing by machine, sew triangles, sew squares (and match corners!), echo quilt my machine, make a gathered ruffle, AND apply a zipper to the back by the ruffle so that it is next to being invisible.  We have ours in Christmas colors because of our “Christmas in July” theme, but you can use whatever colors you desire.  No prior quilting experience is required, but you must have a sewing machine that is in good working order and know the basics of how to operate it to participate in this class.

This week we will make lace ornaments for your tree or to place on packages.   If you haven’t worked with Aqua-Magic you will love it.  We have several samples done in the store and can order the designs for you.

Viking Club Creative Class – Circular Attachment

We will be working with the new Circular Attachment to create an appliqued pillow.   You will learn to use this new tool to create designs from simple circles to shapes and applique!  With your own color combinations, decorative stitches and shapes you will surely create a one of a kind pillow!

You will need to purchase and cut your fabric prior to class as this project will take the entire 2-2 1/2 hours to complete!

Viking Creative Class – Cutwork Basics

Learn the basics of creating beautiful cutwork designs and reverse applique using the Husqvarna Viking Cutwork Needles.  We will be learning the techniques so you can then create beautiful, one-of-a-kind projects that will be envy of all who see them.

You will need  your embroidery machine, embroidery unit, embroidery thread, a solid color fat quarter (or a piece of fabric approximately 18 x 18) and a coordinating “scrap” for the reverse applique.  We will be using Aqua Magic dissolvable stabilizer.

Patchwork Maia Jacket – session 2 of 2

Turn a plain sweatshirt into a “yummy” patchwork jacket.  You won’t believe how much fun and easy this class will be.  Collect your favorite fabrics: batiks, country, floral, flannel, black & white, oriental; the choices are endless.   “Whack” them into shapes and use your sweatshirt as a canvas to create your masterpiece.  Free motion quilting or decorative stitches on your machine finishes the jacket.

Skill Level: intermediate- rotary skills required and prior quilting experience

This is a 2 session class. All sessions are required to be taken together. Christmas In July

In this class you we will make the project from Calendar Parade Summer for July.  This cute red, white and blue star hanger works up quick and easy.

 

Supplies needed:

  • Calendar Parade Summer
  • 1/4 yard Heat and Bond Lite
  • 1 fat quarter or 1/2 yard fabric for backing
  • 13″ x 14″ low-loft cotton batting
  • 13″ x 14″ background fabric
  • non-stick applique pressing sheet
  • 1/4 inch piecing foot
  • open toe foot
  • scraps for applique
  • decorative thread as well as sewing thread.

Connectivity and Advanced Embroidery

Embroidery Basics was just the start.  During this Connectivity and Advanced Embroidery Class, you will customize designs and learn how to interface your machine with your computer.  You can then transfer designs to and from your computer directly to your embroidery machine.  Please bring your embroidery machine, all accessories, embroidery arm and your computer if it is a laptop.

Having attended machine Introduction, Decorative Stitches and Embroidery Basics are helpful but not necessary
