Hexagon Quilted Pillow–#1

Using the Candy Dish pattern and the Hex N More template, we will make this double-sided 16″ pillow or two different pillows–one side is a  negative image of the other.  This class will have two sessions.  You will cut your pieces and learn how to sew them together in the first class.  You will machine quilt and assemble the pillow in class #2.  You will need to complete the piecing between classes #1 and #2.

Decorative Stitching–Viking Owner’s Class #2

You have all of those fancy stitches on your new machine, but do you know how to use them?  We will teach you to appliqué and to program a stitch sequence that can be saved in the memory function of your machine.  You’ll even learn to do basic applique’, free motion quilting and some heirloom techniques with the twin needles and wing needles!

 

Bring your sewing machine, foot control, power cord, all of the accessories that came with your machine, owner’s manual, scissors, two spools of 40 wt. rayon embroidery thread, extra 80/12 or 90/14 universal needles, a bobbin wound with bobbin thread, a twin needle, a wing needle, paper and pen for notes and your eye glasses (if you need them).   Embroidery machine owners do not need to bring the embroidery unit or hoops for this class.

 

There is limited seating so reserve your spot early.

Viking Camp Day 1 – Mystery Class

Dwayne has a great mystery project to kick off Viking Camp. This is very fun to make and will be a useful item in your sewing room. For Viking machines only.

Viking Foot Club

Still thinking about texture! This month we will be playing with twin needles and the pin tuck feet; the 3 groove (or Raised seam foot & plate), and the 5 or 7 grove Pin Tuck Foot. You will need your machine, one or 2 of these feet (we have some to demo), fabric and stabilizer, thread (to match or contrast the fabric) and don’t forget, you will need 2 spools for the twin needle, bobbin, and sewing supplies. So far there is no project planned, but you will have a piece of fabric that could be used for something, if you wish. There is a choice of two days to come, same class; Tuesday, July 30, 6:30-8:30 PM, or Thursday, July 25, 2-4 PM. Call the store for more info or to reserve your spot.

It’s “Christmas in July”, or at least we are thinking of gifts to start working on. Guest towels and kitchen towels make great gifts, so this month we are focusing on embroidering on towels.
