Fleece Rag Quilt

ADULT BASIC SEWING–Flange Pillow

Make a home decor project in our last class of the series–a flange pillow embellished with the decorative stitches found on a sewing machine.  You will learn how to calculate measurements to fit a pre-made pillow form, decide which stitches and threads to use, use a stabilizer to prevent puckering of your stitches, turn corners, press crisp edges,  sew a flange, edgestitch, and make a sham pillow back.  Make this pillow to decorate your bed, sofa, or chair.  You will develop skills so that you can make your own pillows of any size.

  • Sewing machine with foot control and power cord if you own one.  If not, you may use one of our classroom machines.*
  • Sewing machine feet and user’s manual that came with the machine
  • If you are using one of our machines, you will need to bring a 15J bobbin—or buy one from us; they are $.75 each. *

fat quarter exchange

Attention all quilters:
Do you have fat quarters that you purchased to go with a project only to find out that they didn’t match?
Do you have fat quarters that you purchased and can’t remember why?
Do you have fat quarters that you purchased and just don’t like any more?
Bring them in Saturday, September 21 at 10:00 am and swap them with other quilters.
If you have any left over that you do not want to take back with you, we will donate them to a senior group that makes charity quilts.  Clean your sewing room this week and we will see you Saturday!
