It’s time to start a new quilt! This quilt will take 12 sessions to complete
This session we will make a quilt that is completely quilted in the hoop
A Place in the Sun is a double-sided quilt totally created in a 200mm x 200mm hoop, and pieced with the Jenny Join for a perfectly flat seam. This is a quilt that incorporates traditional patchwork and quilting techniques that are all achieved in an embroidery hoop that takes advantage of 21st century technology. These Jenny’s Magic techniques include: multi-layered embroidered applique, quilting and built-in cutting lines to eliminate the need of ever measuring before cutting. All parts and sections of A Place in the Sun are stitched (both quilting and applique) in a hoop: blocks, sashing, cornerstones and borders (including the scallops). Add to this A Place in the Sun is a double-sided quilt as well! We trust you will enjoy this fascinating journey to your special ‘place in the sun’ and that you will be as excited by the easy techniques as we were creating them. Jenny would like to invite you to view the work of her talented friends: Paula Bramwell, Regula Muller, Bernadette Robinson, Margaret Moorehead, Debi Reese, Ruth Osborn, Gina Hodgers, Linda Hopkins, Jo Ann Horton, Jill Wilcox, Danielle Brown and Joanne Wearing (along with the amazing Simon and Robbie) as they showcase their creative skills in the gallery at the back of the book. Each artist provides free directions (as a download) for their projects so you can take advantage of their knowledge and creativity.
