DESIGNER EPIC Update Instructions using USB stick-Version 213

This document explains the process of doing a manual update on the Designer Epic as well as what improvements have been made to the machine.

If possible, it is recommended to update the machine using WiFi connectivity, as this is a faster method. If that is not an option due to poor connectivity or no connectivity, then update the machine using these directions with a USB stick.

Premier+ Owner Class 1

Owner Class 1 is made up of 3 exercises:

  • Configure
  • Windows Explorer Plug-In
  • Premier+ Embroidery

Every consumer who purchases any Husqvarna Viking embroidery machine and downloads the Complimentary Software OR purchases a Designer Jade 35 with Premier+ Intro software OR purchases any optional Premier+ Embroidery software comes to Owner Class 1.

At the end of this class, be sure to do a short ‘teaser’ demo on the Premier+ Embroidery Extra software which will be covered in Software Owner Class 2.

Premier+ Owner Class 2

Owner Class 2 is made up of 3 exercises:

  • Premier+ Embroidery Extra-SuperDesigns
  • Premier+ Embroidery Extra-Appliques & Decorations-using cutters
  • Premier+ Embroidery Extra-QuiltBlock Wizard

Any consumer who purchases Premier+ Extra or Premier+ Ultra should come to Software Owner Class 2. This class should be at no charge.

At the end of Software Owner Class 2, do a ‘teaser’ demo for one of the exclusive modules found in Premier+ Ultra. Let the customers know when your next Software Club or Creative Software Class (not free) will be offered. Don’t forget to tell your customers about Vantage.

Premier+ Owner Class 3

Owner Class 3 is made up of 2 exercises:

  • Family Tree Wizard
  • PhotoStitch Wizard

This is an optional class, which the customer should be charged to take, either as a Club or Creative Software Class. This class will show the Family Tree Wizard & Photostitch Wizard in Premier+ Extra as well as allow consumers with Ultra to see the additional capabilities in the full modules, included only in the Premier+ Ultra software package.

Premier+ Owner Class 4

Owner Class 4 is made up of 2 exercises:

  • Create-Express Border Appliqué
  • Express Design Wizard-comparison between Extra vs. Create options

This is an optional Software class the customer should be charged to attend. This class can be done as an optional Creative Software Class or Software Club. The options explored in the exercise not only cover some features in Premier+ Extra, but primarily focuses on the features found in the exclusive modules that come only with Premier+ Ultra.

Designer Epic Mailer Designs – 5 Free

These 5 free designs are for customers who would have received the USB mailer and include:

  • All Diamond Owners (Trade-Up and Trade-In)
  • All Ruby Owners (Trade-Up and Trade-In)
  • All DSE Owners

SuperDesigns Sampler

This shows some of the new features in SuperDesigns in the Premier+ embroidery software.

DESIGNER Epic 30% Larger Bobbin File

This is a sample that can be stitched out to show the 30% larger capacity of the Designer Epic bobbin.

Husqvarna Viking Crystal Logo vp4 File

Ashleigh from Jensen Beach #708 took the time to create the Husqvarna Viking logo in the Premier+ software using the new decoration feature.

Tips:

  • If the design is made any smaller, change the crystal size in the copyright symbol to 2mm, which are harder to work with due to their small size.
  • This design uses 4mm and 3mm crystals, which are easily available at JoAnn-you will need several hundred.
  • If you want to create a stencil for the cutter, the design will need exported for a cutter (done in the File menu)

Epic E-Reader/Tablet Directions for Classes

The power point presentation was converted to a 5 page word document better suited for class directions. Thank you to Ashleigh in Jensen Beach FL for doing the bulk of the work and sharing the file with me.

New Designer Epic Stitches-Photos

This file is a word document that contains photos of the new stitches on the Designer Epic. Until you have time to sew these samples out yourself, this could be printed to be shown to customers.
