This class is an introduction to your new Husqvarna Viking computerized machine. Learn the basic features of your machine including how to create buttonholes and do a blind hem. Please bring your machine, all accessories, power cord, foot control, machine user’s guide, and sewing thread.

Note: Beginner Embroidery classes will be a separate class.

This class is for new Husqvarna Viking and Singer Sewing and Embroidery machine owners. Learn about your new machine and it’s accessories working with YOUR machine! This is NOT a demonstration class, so be sure to bring your machine!  Learn how to thread your machine and wind a bobbin. Learn about needles and thread choices for use with different fabrics. You’ll learn the best stitch choices for different fabrics, and how to select and adjust stitches for different types of fabric and sewing techniques. You’ll learn basting, sew a blind hem, how to use the overcast stitch and make a buttonhole. An introduction to SEWING features only. This is a prerequisite to the Embroidery Class – Owner’s Class 3.

You’ll bring your sewing machine, accessories, controller pedal and power cord. We provide fabric and thread.

Class duration: Approximately 1-1/2 hour.

Congratulations, you made it to the Coverstitch!   In this class you will learn to convert your serger for the coverstitch and chain stitch: the different threading process, and the needle
positions. We will also try some of the different feet that you can use with
the coverstitch. No worries though because you no longer Fear the Serger.

Attendance at “Serger Owner’s Class 1 – Boot Camp” & “Serger Owner’s Class 2 – Boot Camp Continued” are prerequisites.

In this class you will (surprise) rethread your machine!  From there we will learn gathering, and converting to 2 and 3 thread stitches including the beautiful rolled edge.  Your confidence will soar and your imagination will explode with ideas when you see what your serger can do.

Attendance at “Serger Owner’s Class 1 – Boot Camp” is a prerequisite.

Learn the basics of creating beautiful cutwork designs and reverse applique using the Husqvarna Viking Cutwork Needles.  We will be learning the techniques so you can then create beautiful, one-of-a-kind projects that will be envy of all who see them.

You will need  your embroidery machine, embroidery unit, 40 wt Rayon embroidery thread, 60 wt bobbin thread, a tee shirt and a coordinating “scrap” for the reverse applique, and Aqua Magic dissolvable stabilizer (available in the Viking Sewing Gallery).

No longer will your serger sit in the box collecting dust. In this class you will learn to thread, rethread and identify where your threading went wrong.  By the end of class you will master the 4 thread overlock and be on your way to beautiful professional looking seams.

(Warning: this class tends to exhaust those who attend)

Come learn the basics for quilting a child’s quilt or lap quilt. Learn the seam, cutting, and quilting “rules” of quilting. Use your 6D™ Embroidery to work with letters, loading embroideries, Monogramming, and saving / exporting your designs for your embroider machine .

Manage your designs with the  6D™ Embroidery System Windows® Explorer Plug-In. View embroideries and design files as thumbnail images, then print, convert or send them to your connected embroidery machine.
