At Embroidery Club you started this beautiful cutwork design on the corner of a napkin.

Learn how to create the matching scalloped edge using the elements from the same

design you embroidered so you can finish the napkin. This class will also

 include how to add cutwork needles into a design.

Supply List:

Laptop Computer loaded with 6D Software Premier or 6D Software with Enhancer,

dongle, and design provided at the embroidery club.

If you missed the Embroidery Club, the design will be provided during the Software Club.

Heirloom Club: Sampler Heirloom Quilt – Block 5

The sampler heirloom quilt will consist of nine blocks.  Each block will feature a different heirloom technique.  The fifth block will feature  “Reversible Madeira Appliqué” technique.

Supply List:

Husqvarna Viking Sewing Machine

14 x 14 square of main fabric (batiste, broadcloth, light weight linen)

10 x 10 square od second color fabric (batiste, broadcloth, light weight linen)

8 x 8 square of third color fabric (batiste, broadcloth, light weight linen)

Threads:  heirloom (spool and a bobbin), wash away (spool and a bobbin)

Needles: universal #70 or #80, wing # 100 or #120

How To Make A Rag Quilt Part One

 

Supplies 1 yd. of 9 fabrics or 3/4 yd.12 fabrics

2 yds. of 60″ wide-low-loft cotton batting (optional) or 2-1/2 yds. of 48″ wide batting (optional)

Option: Instead of batting, a layer of flannel may be used 4-1/3 yard. of wide flannel

All purpose sewing thread to blend with fabrics.

Other suggested notions used to make project:

  • Seam Gauge
  • Rag Snip scissors
  • Washout marker

Sit ‘n’ Sew

Sit ‘n’ Sew is just that, bring you machine, bring your project, bring lunch if you want and hang out with others with your same interests.  Spend the afternoon finishing up that unfinished project.  Share tips, hints, techniques and learn from each other.  There is not really a “class” as much as it is a fun way to spend the day. Space is limited so please let us know you will be attending.  As always, let us know if you can’t make it so we can let someone else come in your place.

Bring your machine and all your sewing supplies needed for completing those UFO’s.

Serger Club – Rectangle to Jacket

Simple Shapes are great for serging one-of-a-kind creations.  This jacket serges rectangles together to create a sensational low-sew jacket with a contrasting collar and front band for a touch of elegance.

Supplies:

HV Huskylock Serger set up for 4 thread overlock

80 or 90 needles depending on your fabric weight

Scrap Catcher for your serger

1½ – 2 yards 54 inch wide fabric

3/8 yard contrasting fabric

Cone thread to match fabric.

All purpose thread & bobbin to coordinate with your jacket fabric (for topstitching)

Wonder Tape

The usual sewing supplies:  scissors, pins, fabric markers etc.

Book: Simple Serger Sewing.  If you don’t have this book it is okay, if you do have it, please refer to page 66 for a cutting chart.
