Sometimes we want to stitch a design that is larger than the hoop. In this lesson, we will explore the differences between 6D™ Embroidery Split Design wizard and 6D™ Design Aligner. We will create three different designs to split: a design that we can split between designs, a design that is cursive lettering and a filled design.
There is a $7.50 charge for Embroidery Club to offset printing costs.

This workshop is designed to get you started doing free motion quilting and expose you to several styles of free motion filler patterns. You will complete several samples with patterns that can be used for the table runner. As with anything, the more you practice, the better you will become.
Supplies
· Sewing machine with darning or free-motion foot AND new needle in machine
· Paper and pencil
· All purpose sewing thread in a color that contrasts with your quilt sandwiches
· Small scissors or thread clips
· 4 quilt sandwiches (directions below)
Quilt Sandwiches
You will need at least four 18” square quilt sandwiches. Your top and backing fabric should be a solid color (or reads as solid allover print). Muslin would also be appropriate. Please use cotton batting. Layer a top square, batting and backing square and either baste with quilting pins or spray baste. 505 spray works well for this.

Cutwork Needles Appliqued Placemat
Learn to use the cutwork needles as you applique this spring placemat. The design used is from the Cutwork Needle Kit.
Supply List–quantities for fabrics will make 2 placemats.

It is never too late to learn a skill that will last a lifetime. Viking Sewing Machines are provided in the classroom.
In this first four week session you will create a drawstring tote bag and pajama pant. You can then sign up to continue your learning with another four week session where you will create a top with set in sleeves, the instructors are available to help pick your pattern and give advice on fabric choices.
Further continuation of this series will teach you to put in a zipper, a great skill to learn that can be applied to clothing as well as tote bags and pillows. After completion of this series of classes you may continue to enjoy your new found or refreshed sewing skills completing garments or projects of your choice with the teachers available for assistance when you need them.
If you missed the first week of class (for the first month) you will have to wait for the next month’s class. Please call the store and arrange to be in next month’s class.

Jelly Roll 1600 inch quilt top
Use pre cut strips of fabric (aka “Jelly Rolls”) to create this fast quilt top. The pattern of the colors is created by random and no two quilts (even made with the same Jelly rolls will turn out exactly the same! What a fun class. A 1/4″ piecing foot and basic sewing skills are all that is needed to sew this quilt top.

Stairstepper Quilt Top
Choose 8 coordinating fat quarters for this 42″ by 63″ quilt top. This quilt is MUCH easier than it looks! Use 1/4″ piecing foot for a perfect seam allowance on this project. This is a technique you will use over & over again! The pattern is included in your class fee and will be distributed in class.

This class is for the connectivity module software for the Husqvarna Viking Embroidery machines including the Designer Royale, Diamond, Ruby, Topaz 20, 25, 30 & 50 models.
In class you will learn to use the connectivity module and 6D plug-in or 5D Organizer. Learn how to manage your design collection, sort and organize designs, print out templates and catalogs of your designs. Also see some basics of lettering in the 6D/5D Embroidery software.
Bring to class: your laptop with the connectivity CD installed and if you have the 6D/5D Embroidery software, bring your dongle and users guide. Also bring your memory stick that came with your machine and paper and pen to take notes.

In class you will learn to use the connectivity module and 6D plug-in or 5D Organizer. Learn how to manage your design collection, sort and organize designs, print out templates and catalogs of your designs. Also see some basics of lettering in the 6D/5D Embroidery software.
Bring to class: your laptop with the connectivity CD installed and if you have the 6D/5D Embroidery software, bring your dongle and users guide. Also bring your memory stick that came with your machine and paper and pen to take notes.

Embroidery Machine Owner’s Class
This is part 3 in your new Owner’s classes for your electronic machine with hooped embroidery capabilities. Machines included are Vikings: Royale, Diamond, Ruby, Topaz 20, 25, 30 & 50

What to bring to your owners class:
Your machine, embroidery unit, hoops, memory stick (the one that came with your machine), Robison-Anton Embroidery thread, 60 wt bobbin thread (spool or pre wound bobbin – for Vikings only) power cord, foot pedal, all accessories, manual, paper and pen to take notes.
Please note for H600E and Singer XL 400 models: you must bring a laptop with your machine software installed previously, so that you will be able to embroider in class. You will need your communication cable that came with your machine.
