Meet your machine 2 copyThis will be a class for new machine owners.  Join us with your new Singer or Husqvarna Viking sewing machine to learn the basics!  Bring your machine, power cord, foot pedal and thread.  We will supply the fabric for the class.

Computerized Owners Class 2 Decorative Sewing

Decorative Sewing: Learn to use your machine’s decorative stitches and how to program on your new machine. Please bring your machine, all accessories, power cord, foot control, machine user’s guide, and sewing thread.

Having attended Machine Introduction is helpful, but not necessary.

Emerald 116,118, Learn how to thread your machine, wind a bobbin, and basic sewing techniques.

The edit tab will be featured this month. There is a new look and a couple of new features in the 6D Edit tab. Resize, change the angle, cut out a portion of a design to use as a new design, insert color changes and even insert stitches.  Make things your own.

6D – 6D Extra – 6D Premier

Super fonts in the Letter tab and the Quick Font module will be featured this month.  If You do not have design creator (in Premier) SuperFonts allows you to create backgrounds to go behind other designs such as stippling and crosshatch.  So easy after you learn the tricks. QuickFonts changes TT (True Type) fonts into a stitch file fast and easy.

5D Intermediate Class I

This is the 6″ x6″ Quilt Blocks Project class.  Spring hope and Deco Too!  Blocks will add to your collection.  Edit Tab, Encore, bad 5D Extra designs and motifs  will be featured.

5D and 5D Extra Review Class

Super fonts and QuickFonts will be this months’ lesson.  There are so many things to do with Superfonts.  Add a stipple or crosshatch background for a quilt block,  or make supersized letters for a banner.  Quickfonts uses TT (true type) or Wingding fonts from anywhere and changes them into a stitch file to use in your Letter Tab

5D Pro Class

Learn to use the Contour feature to add interest and texture to your creations. We will also use this feature to create stitching to use under Mylar to add some sparkle to our work .  There will also be a small ITH (in the hoop).

5D Quilt Design Creator

ITH  block within a block will be done this month in 5D add.  Complete a finished quilt block, top and bottom with quilting added.  This can be the start of a lap quilt.

In this class we will be continuing our seasonal yard flag series.  We will be using the Lunch Box Quilts Picnic Time designs.  There are so many fun things you can do with this card.  The 60” x 60” quilt makes a great table cloth/topper for your outdoor activities.  We have created several combinations.

Class:      (Class fee $10) we will provide stabilizer

What to Bring:  Please label all items so they do not get lost!!!

  •  Hoops: 240 x 150 hoop or 200 x 260 hoop depending on your machine
  • Power cord, Embroidery Arm, Foot Control & Machine 

*    Embroidery scissors and basic sewing supplies

*    Sensor Q Foot    & straight stitch plate (if available)

*    pre-wound bobbin  for embroidery

*    Embroidery threads:  colors of your choice to coordinate with your fabrics

*    Sewing thread with matching bobbin for flag construction

You will need ½ yard rip-stop nylon (or fabric of your choice if making a wall hanging) and sewing thread with bobbin to match for the final construction.

Software Basic

This class is for people who have the 6D program or want some more information about it.  For the people who have the program please have it loaded on you laptop (if you have one, if not you can look on with someone else). This is a basic class which will get you more familiar with the program. We will also show a little of the editing portion of the software were you can edit a design adding or taking away stitches, plus more.  For the people who do not have a laptop then just bring a paper and pen to take notes.

Viking Owner’s Class 1 – Machine Introduction – 2:00 pm -5/19/14

This class is an introduction to your new Husqvarna Viking sewing machine.  Learn the basic features of your machine including how to create buttonholes and do a blind hem.  Please bring your machine, all accessories, machine owner’s manual, sewing thread, and a pad and pen, glasses (if you need them) and you might consider bringing a sweater as it can get chilly.

Includes the following machines:  all Sapphire models, all Opal models, Eden Rose, Tribute, and all Designer models.

Keeping The World Sewing

This is a club for any sewing machine purchased at Viking Sewing Gallery store. Every month we will do a different project. It gives you a chance to know your machine better, learn some new techniques, have some time to interact with other sewers and
just have some fun. May will be a Sewing Machine Organizer to slide under your machine. It has pockets to keep all your supplies close at hand. Call store for supply list.
