6D Software Owner’s Class #3 Editing

Cost: If you purchased your software from a Viking Sewing Gallery, this class is free. If not, there is a charge for the class.

BASIC EDITING and STITCH EDITOR PLUS

This class will show you how to use Stitch Editor to edit and optimize your designs. We will also create a new embroidery by using some of the 2600 designs that are included in the software and will touch on the use of the Split Project Wizard and Design Aligner to split large projects to fit into smaller hoops.

Attendees need to bring a laptop loaded with their programs, a mouse, power cable, dongle, flash drive, note paper, and pen.

This class is for those with the following modules of software. Anyone interested in upgrading their software is welcome to attend and observe the class.

Serger Basics, March 21 at 2 pm

For new owner’s of Viking Huskylock or Singer Sergers. Learn to thread and use your serger ‘s 2, 3, and 4 thread features, including Rolled hem. For owners of Husqvarna Viking Huskylock or recent Singer Serger models ONLY! Bring your serger and it’s accessories, don’t forget your power cord and controller.

This is a hands on class, NOT a demonstration. If your machine comes with a DVD, you may find it helpful to view it before you come to class, and a review of the manual is recommended as well!

We supply thread and fabric for this class.

Owners Class 2 (Quick Sewing Project) March 14 at 10 am

Practice and expand on the skills you learned in Owner’s Class I. We’ll make a small zipper pouch, and learn the applique technique and how to use the decorative stitches on your machine! For all new Husqvarna Viking and Singer machine owners. Bring your machine, accessories, power cord and foot controller. Fabric and thread supplied.

Owner’s Class 1 April 4, 2pm

This class is for new Husqvarna Viking and Singer Sewing and Embroidery machine owners. Learn about your new machine and it’s accessories. Learn how to thread your machine and wind a bobbin. Learn about needles and thread choices for use with different fabrics. You’ll learn the best stitch choices for different fabrics, and how to select and adjust stitches for different types of fabric and sewing techniquest. You’ll learn basting, sew a blind hem, how to use the overcast stitch and make a buttonhole. An introduction to SEWING features only. This is a prerequisite to the Embroidery Class – Owner’s Class 3.

You’ll bring your sewing machine, accessories, controller pedal and power cord. We provide fabric and thread.

Class duration: Approximately 1-1/2 hour. Please call to check availability for “day of class” registration.

Embroidery Techniques: CUTWORK April 3 1:30pm

Learn about machine cutwork done IN the embroidery hoop!

You can make lovely cutwork designs with your Husqvarna Viking Designer series Embroidery Machine. Fabric and materials are furnished for this class. You’ll bring your Machine and Embroidery Unit, your USB stick, and your 120 x 120mm hoop.If you need help getting your machine in from your car, call us from your cell phone when you arrive at 512-340-0640, we’ll be happy to help. Beginning Quilting Saturday, March 28 at 2 pm – Part 1 of 2

Learn the basics of quilting by completing a placemat sized quilt. This is a two part class. In part one, you’ll learn rotary cutting and piecing techniques. In class two (two weeks later) you’ll quilt and bind your small project! You’ll go home with instructions to make more placemats and the basic techniques to make a larger quilt as well!. We’ll use a modern quilting pattern provided by permission of Modern Quilt Designer, Alissa Haight Carlton! A supply list will be sent via email with your registration confirmation. Required: Your Viking or Singer machine, in good sewing condition.

It is recommended that you be familiar with your machine operation before you tackle this class. Call 512-340-0640 for more information. No quilting experience required – this is for the absolute beginner! Please call for day of class availability, this class typically fills early and has a wait list!

Each Month, Embroidery machine owners get together to work on a new project, featuring a special pattern or new technique. Join a group and join in the fun! The fee cover supplies and an embroidery pattern. Currently, Club is held 4 times during the month. Pick the most convenient club timeSupply list will be sent with email confirmation.

This Month: A fast easy project that is great for gift giving! Details coming soon! You’ll provide a plush hand towel (the thicker the better!), we’ll provide a pattern, stabilizers and thread. Bring your 120 x 120mm hoop.
