We have many times and dates available for you to choose from.

‘SEW’ come in, or call to select the times and dates that you are able to attend class.

This class is designed to assist you in learning how to operate your new sewing machine.

So sign up now  and let us teach you,  so you can enjoy your new sewing machine.

This classes is geared for beginners, 10 years old and up–children or adults.  You will learn how to cut and sew the Rail Fence quilt pattern and then make it into a pillow with a sham back.  You will also learn how to make buttonholes.  Parents must sign a release form to leave their children with us.  Our classroom is small, so space is limited to six participants.  You may bring your own sewing machine if you have one, but it must be in good working order.    If not, we have a few classroom machines that are available for use.    The class fee for EACH class is $20.  Students provide their own supplies, too.  A supply list can be obtained for each class separately.  However, the Basic Sewing Kit that you will need to bring to each class includes:

• Sharp fabric shears (bent handle) *
• Water erasable marking pen * or chalk pencil
• Pin cushion or Grabbit magnetic pin holder
• Sewing pins (the ones with the big balled heads are easier to use)
• Seam ripper
• 6” seam gauge (metal ruler with a slider)
• 1 pkg. size 80 Universal needles*
• Thimble to fit the middle finger
• Point turner
• Hand sewing needles
• 1 large safety pin
• Tape measure (60” size is good)
• A container with a lid to store all of these (It can be a shoe box, a sewing box, or a basket.)  Please put your name on it or tie a ribbon on it so that you will know that it is yours.  All items in your box needs to be labeled with your name, also.

For this class, the supply list is as follows:

• 1 fat quarter or 1/2 yd. of cotton fabric for the back of the pillow
• 1/8 yd. each of 4 different coordinating cotton fabrics
• 1 spool of all-sew Gutermann sewing thread
• 1 empty bobbin to fit your sewing machine–If you plan to use one of our sewing machines, you need a size 15J bobbin ($.75 ea. in our Viking dept.)
• Sewing machine, all of its feet, accessories, foot control, and power cord if you are bringing your own machine
• The Basic Sewing Kit (listed above)
• 12 pillow form
• 2  flat ¾” sized buttons to match the pillow back fabric.  Don’t get buttons that have a shank.

Learn how to use your new  Husqvarna Viking Embroidery Machine purchased from our Viking Sewing Gallery. There is a series of classes depending on the Sewing Machine you have purchased.

This class will show embroidery basics and getting to know your new machine. This will include  putting in  embroidery designs, stabilizers, hooping , threading and many other great tips on getting the most out of your new machine.

Requirement: Bring your machine, Embroidery Unit,  USB stick, Embroidery thread, bobbin thread, scissors and all accessories to class.

Class is a series classes ( depending on machine you purchased) You will automatically be signed up for class according to your machine model. Check our store with any questions or you need to change date for any class.

American Girl Design & Sew like “Isabelle™” Tote Bag

Get ready for you and your young designer to create fun and fashionable tote bag inspired by “Isabelle™”, Girl of the Year® and her story of creativity and genuine spirit. This fun and easy class will help both of you practice sewing skills while exploring your creativity. We will add fun trims and decorative stitches to a tote bag as a way to showcase your own unique style.

An adult must accompany child.

Supply list will be emailed when you sign up or you can stop in the store to pick it up.

Come join us for a basic class on how to use your new sewing machine.  We will show you how to thread your machine, wind a bobbin, set your machine for straight and stretch stitches and give you an overview of all the feet that came with your machine.  We will make a button hole in class, discuss changing needles and many other basics.  Please let us know you have signed up online by calling our store at 614-866-4240.  Spaces are limited.  Bring your new machine and accessories with you for this class.

Block 6

For block 6, we will do foundation piecing. The pattern is marked on stabilizer, fabric is added, decorative stitching done using the Multi-Line Decorative foot, and then, the stabilizer is torn away, leaving a pretty block!

This is a fun and functional bag. You make the bag and we have the inserts for sale for this large sewing bag.

In the Pillow of the Month Club, we will be making an owl applique pillow.

Every month, Jackie, creates a new pillow for you to make, learn new techniques and have fun with.

Get ready for you and your young designer to create a fun and fashionable project inspired by Isabelle™,

and her story of creativity and spirit. This class will help your young designer

explore her creativity while both of you practice sewing skills. The use of decorative stitches and ribbon

let your girl add flair and showcase her own unique style. Together, you’ll spend time making not only a

embellished denim skirt but special memories that last forever. An adult is required for this class.

Embroidery Club 278 – Yarn Couched Dress by Linda Holmes

Take a design that uses yarn couching and think outside the box. Create surface texture with yarn couched appliqués. Add a yarn couched ruffle around the hem for the perfect finishing touch.

We meet every other Saturday.

Embroider on WOOD!  Impossible.

Learn how to use your embroidery machine to sew on this unique “fiber”.  Cross stitch designs work very well for this project.  Make your own in the Cross Stitcher  module or purchase a design pack with lots of great designs already programmed for you.

Owner’s Class 1

Come learn about your machine! This class covers machine operation and maintenance! Everyone needs to take this class first, before signing up for any other classes.

This popular class appears once a month on the first Saturday of each month.  Class size is limited to 6 people.  You will make one 18-inch designer pillow with piping.  You will learn how easy it is to put in an invisible zipper with Viking’s new clear invisible zipper foot–no ironing necessary–the foot does all the work!  Sign up early to receive your supply list.

Isabelle is an inspired dancer who discovers her way to shine! Join us for a special sewing class inspired by American Girl’s 2014 Girl of the Year, Isabelle. Enjoy this special class where you both learn how to make a cute fabric bracelet and how to use your sewing machine to creatively embellish items you may have at home, like a denim skirt.
