This class is for adults wishing to learn basic sewing skills.  You will learn about Fabrics, notions and “tools of the trade”, as well as basic sewing machine use, while Creating a basic garment.  It is never too late to learn a skill that will last a lifetime.  Viking Sewing Machines are provided in the classroom.

In this first four week session you will create a drawstring tote bag and pajama pant.  You can then sign up to continue your learning with another four week session where you will create a top with set in sleeves, the instructors are available to help pick your pattern and give advice on fabric choices.

Further continuation of this series will teach you to put in a zipper, a great skill to learn that can be applied to clothing as well as tote bags and pillows.  After completion of this series of classes  you may continue to enjoy your new found or refreshed sewing skills completing garments or projects of your choice with the teachers available for assistance when you need them.

Many of you saw this project when Viking educator, Alix Graham Michele, visited with us in February. She has given us permission to teach her class here in Mayfield Heights! Created with the Inspira Toys embroidery designs and 5D software*/**, this quilt will delight any youngster! The 3 session class will begin with the software*/** and how to create the blocks for the quilt, and then we will embroider & quilt in the hoop. Finally we will assemble the quilt.

**Even if you have little or no experience using the software, you can take this class!

In this class you will learn the easiest ways to put in a regular zipper and even an invisible zipper! In addition you will learn how to make buttonholes on your machine and how to sew a button onto your project using your machine. Please bring a 7” regular zipper, a 7” invisible zipper, and thread.

What to Bring:  In addition to the supply list items, sewing machine/embroidery machine and hoops, sewing accessories, machine user guide,  scissors, etc.  In some cases, you will be expected to come with fabric cut, patterns traced, etc., so be sure to read your supply list carefully prior to class.

A Place in the Sun is Jenny Haskins latest greatest and easiest design set and book is here! this design packet and book have made it easy by actually stitching all of your quilting in the hoop! This is a special class, we have reserved the JoAnn’s classroom, and this class is only available for 8 people you must have a Viking emb. machine with at least a 200×200 hoop, I can only reserve two floor model machines for this class. There will be more sessions available at later dates, and at an only $10 class in class you’ll be completing and following the book with a few little notes from Patti. Must buy the book for class and get a class discount when you sign up! You must load your designs on your USB stick prior to class, supply list is in the book.
