This month we will feature the Join and Fold Edging Foot. It’s a lot of fun, and practical, too! There will be a small project, or you can just “play”. Supply list will be updated shortly.

Please bring to class your machine, Join and Fold Edging Foot, if you have it, new needles, thread, both sewing thread and 40 wgt embroidery thread, base fabric (1/4 to 1/2 Yd, depending on if you are making this into a project or just playing) 2 pieces of 3/8″ -1/2″ wide ribbon, 8-14″ long each, 2 pieces lace edging or trim 8-14″ long, and a 12-14″ zipper if you are making this into a small bag.

Learn the unique decorative sewing features of your machine.  We will cover combing, creating and placing many of the specialty stitches.  You will learn to program letters and decorative stitches.

Please bring:  Your Sewing Machine and all its accessories, a spool of regular and rayon sewing thread and a pair of scissors.

We are going to be making this adorable baby quilt! We will be doing this quilt from start to finish. This class will be set up in 5 parts so as to have enough time for every step. When you buy the pattern it comes with instructions for several sizes but in class we will be making the baby size. Once you learn the technique of this quilt then you can make it in any size you would like.

Explore your software! Learn how to load one of over 700 embroideries and create a unique design! Use Letters in 5D™ Embroidery to create new SuperFont with specialty fill properties, then Snap them to the design. Combine, Colorsort, then add a frame to finish up and in 5D™ Organizer, add Trim Commands. Please, bring your laptop with 5D™ Embroidery system installed and a dongle.

This class meets every Wednesday from 10 to 12:30.You pick the project — quilting, embroidery or garment making — and Karen will work with you to create it. You can use one of our machines, or bring your own. Please bring all supplies listed for your pattern and basic sewing kit (scissors, thread, ruler, etc.).  These classes are tons of fun and very inspirational!  Class fee:  $10

With ideas from heirloomcreations.com, create a beautiful wall hanging using a variety of techniques:  fused applique, decorative stitches, and our new Circular Attachment tool!  To attend this class you must have a machine that uses the circular attachment (either the new one, or the previous tool sold for earlier machines).  In class, we will create one portion of a three block quilt wall hanging (or table runner).  Have fun and bring out all your favorite fabrics!

This class will be to teach you how to use your 5D Quilt Design Creator software. This is a separate software than all of the other 5D software’s.

Free motion quilting is both a skill and an art form. Many non sewists think that using a sewing machine is cheating. Those of us who quilt know differently.

This class is designed for those afraid to take the plunge into the world of free motion quilting or for those who have tried and still feel they need more help. Students will be given several practice  exercises as well as tips and  tricks to make this an enjoyable process.

Every once in a while, we get an “extra” week in the month , so our classes do not fill the spots! We love having everyone here to share ideas and learn from each other, so this evening we will have an “open sew”.  Just bring your project, set up your machine, and have fun sewing!  (If you don’t have a project, we will find one for you).

Serger New Owners Class #1

This is the first class in a 2 part series.  All parts in this series are required to be taken together for the Viking S21 and S25. 

Singer machines and Viking H-Class 200 will attend Owners Class #1 only.

In the first course we will  cover how to thread your machine with basic stitching education.

Second Serger New Owners Course will be for chain stitch/cover stitch and safety stitching.
