T-shirt Tricks

Learn tips and tricks for handling tricky knit fabrics while making a fitted t-shirt. We’ll practice some techniques using serger and coverstitch machines.

Supplies needed:

-your basic sewing tools*

-a fitted t-shirt pattern

-appropriate yardage of laundered knit fabric as indicated on the pattern + ¼ yard extra to practice techniques

-matching all-purpose thread

-5/8” or 1” fold-over elastic for optional neck finish

-size 4.0 twin needle for optional finishing techniques

-1/2”  wide paper-backed fusible web such as steam-a-seam lite (https://smile.amazon.com/Warm-Company-Steam-Seam-Fusible/dp/B001689TRK/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1483551539&sr=8-4&keywords=steam+a+seam+2+double+stick+fusible+web ).  Any brand is fine but you want the kind with a paper backing

 

Cost:  $45 (1 – 3 hour Class)

 

Dates:  Tuesday, February 7 – 5-8:30 p.m.

            Friday, March 10 – 5-8:30 p.m.
