Sewing/Embroidery–Cutwork Needles/Applique’ Pillow Wrap

This is a 2-part class.  In the first class, Belva will show you how to use cutwork needles and the endless hoop to stitch out the embroidery for this elegant pillow wrap.  In the second class (on October 7), you will complete the construction of the pillow wrap AND make the pillow with gathered edges.

 

Supply List

  • Sewing machine with accessories, foot pedal, and accessories
  • Embroidery unit
  • Mega endless hoop
  • Sensor Q-foot
  • Tear N Wash stabilizer
  • 4″ Micro-tip curved blade scissors
  • Embroidery needles 90/14
  • 1/2 yard pillow fabric
  • If using a quilt fabric weight cotton, you will also need 1 yard of Sew Soft fusible batting to make it heavier.
  • 3/8 yard wrap fabric
  • 1/4 yard applique’ fabric (lame’ or sparkle organza)  (We used gold lame’–it is the background fabric around the cutwork in the sample.)
  • 3 to 5 decorative buttons
  • 12″ square pillow form
  • Construction thread to match pillow fabric and wrap fabric  (Use all-purpose sewing thread–not rayon embroidery thread to construct the wrap and pillow.)
  • Bobbin thread
  • One spool of 40-wt rayon embroidery thread to match pillow fabric
  • Hand sewing needle
  • Chalk marker
  • Ruler
  • Screwdriver
  • Applique’ scissors
  • Clearance plate’/multipurpose tool
  • Aqua Magic tabilizer
  • Tweezers
  • 5 mm hemmer foot
  • A Band Aid (just in case)
  • Husqvarna Viking USB stick for your machine
  • 12-14″ hidden zipper to match the pillow fabric
