Clothesline Cross-Over Purse

This unique purse is made from fabric strips and a cotton clothesline.  You will also use different presser feet to make your sewing easier.  This is the class that everyone wanted after seeing the one that Chris Dolinar showed in her Trunk Show.

Supply List:

  • 1 jelly roll or 6 fat quarters
  • 1 cotton clothesline (They come mostly in the ¼” x 100’ size and are available at JoAnn Etc.)
  • 1 spool of white all-purpose sewing thread
  • 2-3 bobbins wound with the white thread
  • Zipper foot (the one packed with your sewing machine) or the Mega Piping Foot (#413195145)
  • Double Welt Cord Foot (#4112627145)
  • Large sewing scissors
  • Rotary cutter & ruler
  • Basic Sewing Kit
  • Hand Sewing Needle
  • Thimble (optional)
  • Stiletto
  • 1 large button (1¼”-2” diameter) or toggle at least 1½” long
  • Fray Check or other seam sealant
  • Universal 90 needle
  • Denim 100 or 110 needle
  • 1 ponytail elastic
  • Sewing machine with its accessories, foot control, and power cord
  • Sewing machine extension table—helpful but not essential

 

Preparation before class:  To save class time, fold the Jelly Roll strips in half lengthwise with wrong sides together, and press.  Then, open up the fabric strips, and fold the raw edges to meet the center crease.  Press.

In order for us to start class on time, please arrive 5-10 minutes before class is to begin to allow you to have time to set up.

 

If you find that you will be unable to attend, please let us know well in advance so that we can call a person on our waiting list to take your place.  If there are too few to sign up, we reserve the right to cancel the class.   Also, please be kind to those with fragrance sensitivity by not wearing colognes and perfumes.  Thank you.
