Learn to use the cutwork needles as you applique this spring placemat. The design used is from the Cutwork Needle Kit.
Supply List–quantities for fabrics will make 2 placemats.
- Sewing machine, accessories, and embroidery unit
- Your machine’s USB stick with loaded design on it
- 150 x 150, 200 x 200, 240 x 150 OR 260 x 200 hoop*
- Basic sewing kit (scissors, pins, etc.)
- Rotary cutter*
- Rotary cutting ruler*
- Cutwork Needles Kit*
- 1 fat quarter (mottled fabric–This will be the upper layer of the placemat.)
- 1 fat quarter (print–This will be the applique’.)
- 2 fat quarters or 1/2 yard of fabric–(solid or print–This will be the backing of the placemat.)
- 1 dark Rayon 40wt embroidery thread (we used black)*
- All-purpose sewing thread to match the placemat backing fabric
- Border Mitering Tool
- Aqua Magic stabilizer*
- 1 yd. Sew Soft fusible batting*
- Duck Bill Applique’ Scissors*
- Edge Joining Foot*

Preparation before class: Download design #3 from the CD in the Cutwork Needles Kit, and load it onto your USB stick for your machine.
