Learn to set up your serger for coverstitch, a chainstitch, a 4-thread or 5-thread safety stitch, and 2-thread stitching. These stitches will enable you to make countless construction techniques and embellishments with your serger.
Bring:
- Your serger, foot control, power cord, all of the tools and accessories that came with it and the owner’s manual
- Scissors
- Paper and pen for notes
- A spool or cone of red, green, yellow and blue threads. If you have a 5-thread serger, also bring purple thread. These different colors of thread will be your “training wheels” until you master threading and tension.
- Size 90/14 needles that fit your serger.
- If you have difficulty seeing, be sure to bring your eye glasses and a flashlight.
- If you did not buy your serger at this store, please bring your sales receipt. There is a charge for this class if you did not buy it from a Viking Sewing Gallery.
In order for us to start class on time, please arrive 5-10 minutes before class is to begin to allow you to have time to set up.
If you signed up for this class but later find that you will be unable to attend, please let us know well in advance so that we can call a person on our waiting list. If there are too few to sign up, we reserve the right to cancel the class. Also, please be kind to those with fragrance sensitivity by refraining from wearing colognes and perfumes. Thank you.
