Serger Club: Plastic Bag Caddy

Plastic Bag Caddy

Everyone has those pesky plastic bags that we get whenever we shop.  Here is someplace to store them until you are ready to reuse them.  There is an opening at the top to stuff the bag in and another at the bottom to pull them out.  Learn to use the piping foot and the elastic foot as well as serger pintucks while making this quick and easy project.

Supplies:
Huskylock Serger
1 Fat Quarter of cotton fabric (18 x 22 inches)
½ yard of ¼ inch cording (for the piping)
1 package of double fold bias tape
½ yard of 3/8 inch wide elastic
4 Cones of thread to match fabric * if you are using a contrasting color like I did, you will need an additional 3 cones of coordinating thread.
Piping Foot (620117596)
Elastic Foot (620117896)
Button Reed/Clearance Plate
Fast Turn Tube Turner for ½” turn (Set – 140000001)
Double Eyed Needle (140000430)
Marking Pen
Rotary Cutter, Ruler & Mat
Scissors, Pins, etc.
Cutting Instructions:
Cut a 4 inch x 18 inch strip off the fat quarter.  This should leave you an 18 x 18 inch square.
