In class #9 you will learn how to applique’ by machine. We will be making two blocks this week, the Sunbonnet Sue and Grandmother’s Fan, hence the extended time slot (note time change).
Supply List:
- 2—13” x 13” squares of background fabric (this should be a light color to not compete with the appliqué designs)
- Approximately ¼ yd. pre-gathered lightweight ½” to 5/8” wide lace
- Assorted fabrics from your selected pieces
- Sewing machine, foot control, power cord, accessories
- Left-edge topstitching foot
- Freezer paper
- Sewing thread
- 40 wt. embroidery thread for embellishing Sun Bonnet Sue’s hat & dress
- Pins
- Scissors
- Pinking shears
- Disappearing fabric marking pen
- Water Works or Dissolve A-Way stabilizer (8” wide will be sufficient)
- Small quilting iron (optional)
- Ironing pad (optional)
- 12” wide Tear A-Way or Tear A-Way Light stabilizer
