Free Motion Quilting Workshop w/ Andrea 5/18

Due to circumstances beyond our control, online class registration is not working properly.

Please call 904-645-5155 to sign up for class.

This workshop is designed to get you started doing free motion quilting and expose you to several styles of free motion filler patterns. You will complete several samples with patterns that can be used for the table runner.  As with anything, the more you practice, the better you will become.

Supplies

·          Sewing machine with darning or free-motion foot AND new needle in machine

·          Paper and pencil

·          All purpose sewing thread  in a color that contrasts with your quilt sandwiches

·         Small scissors or thread clips

·         4 quilt sandwiches  (directions below)

Quilt Sandwiches

You will need at least four 18” square quilt sandwiches.  Your top and backing fabric should be a solid color (or reads as solid allover print).  Muslin would also be appropriate.  Please use cotton batting.  Layer a top square, batting and backing square and either baste with quilting pins or spray baste.  505 spray works well for this.

Optional Recommended Supplies

Extra sewing machine needles
