Free Motion Quilting Saturday, March 21, at 10am

Learn the technique of Free Motion Quilting with your Husqvarna Viking or Singer machine from our resident expert, long time quilt-maker, Karen Alexander.  Required: A sturdy machine with feed dog drop feature or a feed dog cover. Demonstration and participation. You will know and have practiced  the basics by the time we finish the class.  See the supply list below.  Student will provide thread and sample quilt sandwich, see below for details. Call 512-340-0640 for more information. Bring these SUPPLIES which are needed for class:

  •  Two 18 inch square pieces of 100% cotton muslin or neutral pattern/color quilter’s cotton
  • Two 20 inch square pieces of 100% cotton muslin or neutral pattern/color quilter’s cotton
  • Two 19 inch square pieces of 100% COTTON quilt batting (Warm N  Natural or Pellon are good brands)
  • MACHINE quilting thread – be sure you don’t pick up any “HAND” quilting thread! Hand thread is glazed (sometimes labeled glacee).
  • We’ll provide machine quilting needles.
  • Bring a free motion or darning foot for your machine if you have one, or you can use one of ours.
