Beginner Quilting Part 2

This is PART TWO of a two part course. You must have completed part one, in order to participate!

Learn the basics of quilting by completing a place mat or table runner sized quilt. This is a two part class. In part one, you’ll learn rotary cutting and piecing techniques. In class two (one week  later) you’ll quilt and bind your small project! You’ll go home with instructions to make larger projects using the same design. We’ll use a traditional Disappearing Nine Patch quilting pattern provided by Colette Wilson.  A supply list will be sent via email with your registration confirmation.  Required: Your Viking or Singer machine, in good sewing condition. It is recommended that you be familiar with your machine operation before you tackle this class.  Preregistration is required, space is limited.

Supplies: refer to your handouts from class one for size, and bring your quilt batting, and backing for the project. Don’t forget your homework:  Cut three, 3″ strips cut from the width of your coordinating fabric for your borders(you’ll need 1/2 yard for this and binding fabric).   Cut three 2.5″ strips from the the width of fabric for your binding.   Bring your walking foot (if you have one), and a quilting thread… be sure it is marked for “machine quilting” and is not “glace or glazed” (that is for hand quilting!). Call with any questions: 512-280-2334.

Your email is required so we can send you the supply list! All supplies are readily available at Jo-Ann or your local quilt shop.
